Falconry is an ancient art, reputed to be the oldest sport in the world. Originating in the Far East around 2000BC, as a means of catching food for yourself and your family, falconry spread Westwards reaching the shores of Europe long before the end of the first Millennium.
Programme Details
10.50am Guests arrive and check in11.00am An introductory talk on falconry, and safety briefing.
12.00pm We take our guests into open rolling countryside to experience a flying session with a pair of Harris hawks. This is a real experience of falconry in the field with a pair of working hawks in peak condition. this activity is both hands on and camera friendly.
1.00om Our guests return to the centre where we demonstrate the techniques of flying a Lanner Falcon to the lure of exercise. your flying session
concludes with a display by our Turkey Vulture and a Barn Owl.1.30pm. Your Falconry session comes to an end with an informative photo session where you are introduced to a ferruginous Buzzard and a Snowy owl.
