Wicklow Gardens

Welcome to Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland.  Wicklow is home to some of Ireland’s most beautiful gardens.   

Visit world renown Mount Usher, the National Botanic Gardens at Kilmacurragh, Killruddery Gardens or  Powerscourt Gardens, recently voted third best garden in the world by National Geographic!

Wicklow is also home to some amazing smaller gardens.   All are of outstanding natural beauty and diversity and each one distinctive in terms of mood and theme.

Due to the temperate climate, an unrivalled variety of trees, plants and shrubs await the visitor with many private gardens being open exclusively for this event (please check individual gardens for opening times). Garden owners are only too delighted to welcome and share their experience and expertise with the visiting garden enthusiast. A warm welcome awaits.



The weekend of (August 4th to August 6th) we’re all down on the quayside and around town to continue the tradition of one of 

Irelands Longest Running Maritime Festivals.The Annual Festival has been rejuvenated over the last few years and is once again growing.

The big event is on Sunday with all kinds of family events down by the quayside. With displays of traditional Irish art, children’s entertainment, market stalls and exhibits by the lifeboats, emergency services and much more it will create a truly magical weekend for everyone.




Roundwood Festival 

Roundwood Festival 2017 will take place from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday, 6th August (the Bank Holiday weekend).

This year the Festival will kick off with a guided walk at the Vartry Water Works on the evening of Wednesday 2nd August and will end with the hugely popular Roundwood Street Festival Day on Sunday 6th of August.


The Hollywood Fair 

The Hollywood Fair Committee is busy making final preparations for the Annual Fair which takes place from Wednesday 16th to Sun 20th August. The 2017 Hollywood Fair promises to be hugely entertaining with something of interest for everyone. The pre-1950s rural heritage theme of the Fair has proved a real hit with people. All in attendance embrace the spirit of the occasion and enjoy the spectacle of seeing each other dressed in pre-1950s attire! Whether it’s nostalgia for the past or something else, both the farming community and townspeople alike have been flocking to Hollywood in the last 6 years to be part of the celebration.
