Welcome to Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland. Wicklow is home to some of Ireland’s most beautiful gardens.
Visit world renown Mount Usher, the National Botanic Gardens at Kilmacurragh, Killruddery Gardens or Powerscourt Gardens, recently voted third best garden in the world by National Geographic!
Wicklow is also home to some amazing smaller gardens. All are of outstanding natural beauty and diversity and each one distinctive in terms of mood and theme.
Due to the temperate climate, an unrivalled variety of trees, plants and shrubs await the visitor with many private gardens being open exclusively for this event (please check individual gardens for opening times). Garden owners are only too delighted to welcome and share their experience and expertise with the visiting garden enthusiast. A warm welcome awaits.
The Coillte Emerald Enduro presented by Biking.ie will return to Carrick Mountain on the 26th to 28th of May for the 4th Round of the 2017 Enduro World Series. The best bike riders in the world will complete six timed technical downhill stages, in a rally style format called ‘Enduro’. The rider with the fastest combined stage times on day shall be crowned the winner. Several thousand spectators and dozens of international journalists, photographers and film crews will descend on County Wicklow, to witness the most spectacular biking event in Ireland!
Wicklow Seafood Festival will take place on Sunday, 11 June 2017 from 11-7pm on the South Quay. It will be a collaboration by local restaurants and businesses taking part in Chef Demonstrations, providing delicious seafood dishes to whet your appetite. There will also be artisan food producers and crafts.
To make this a real family day out, there will be boat trips to Wicklow Head and water based activities, not to mention that it will also be Sammy the Seal’s Birthday that day, and no doubt he will cause a stir at feeding time! There will also be puppet shows, face painting, train rides, music and much much more.
Admission will be €2.50 per person, and children under 12 will be free.

The Wicklow 200 is a non-competitive one-day cycle ride that takes place every June and attracts over 3000 cyclists from many different countries. Established in 1982 the Wicklow 200, as the name suggests, covers over 200 kilometres around Co. Wicklow, taking in most of the famous hills that have made Wicklow a major international cycling destination over the years.
The shorter Wicklow 100 Challenge takes place on the same day, and shares most of its route with the Wicklow 200.
The Wicklow 200 is famous for its relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere and superb organisation.
The event has been organised each year since it started in 1982 by the Irish Veteran Cyclists Association.
Taking part in the “Wicklow 200” (200km) or the shorter “Wicklow 100” (100km) is taking part in one of the best cycling challenges in Ireland. This very popular event which is on it’s 36th year, incorporates some of the most difficult mountains in Co. Wicklow and the most breathtaking scenic roads in the whole of Ireland.
2017 features a new Start/Finish at the Bray Emmets GAA Club.
Along the way we will have water, food and repair stops at points to be confirmed. Also our roving repair vehicles who travel on the circuit are always delighted to assist in the event of a mechanical problem. At the end of the day you will be rewarded with a medal for completing the event, along with food, tea and coffee.
